The short version
The 15’ ISLE Megalodon is a floating party platform: a huge, very stable inflatable that carries several adults, kids or dogs at once.
It’s slow, heavy and hard to steer, so buy it for group fun on calm water, not for paddling anywhere fast.
It’s 15 feet long, 56 inches wide and 8 inches thick. ISLE now sells it as the Megalodon 3, which adds a motor mount, a full-length deck pad and ISLE’s accessory rail system to the same basic shape.
Current version
As of October 2026 the current model is the ISLE Megalodon 3, sold direct by ISLE in 12’ and 15’ sizes. Compared with the version we first wrote about in 2021:
- Motor mount: ISLE says it takes an electric motor of up to 3 horsepower, which turns it into a slow, stable party barge.
- ISLE-LINK rails: an accessory track along both rails for ISLE’s seats, fishing crate, straps and bags.
- Full-length traction pad: the whole deck is padded, so it’s comfortable for kids, dogs and lounging.
- Specs: ISLE now lists the 15’ at 1,081 L, 52 lb and a 1,100 lb capacity (it was 1,050 lb).
- Price: ISLE’s list price for the 15’ package is $1,195; it was on sale for around $955 on ISLE’s site at the time of writing. The 12’ was around $795.

ISLE’s 12’ Megalodon 3 is 45” wide and 8” thick, with 700 L of volume, a 700 lb capacity and a 34 lb board weight.

Stability
9.0This is the Megalodon’s whole point. At 56” wide and 8” thick, it’s hard to tip, and it stays steady even with people shifting around on deck.
Maneuverability
5.0Turning a 15-foot, 56-inch board takes effort, and it’s harder still when several paddlers have to coordinate. Wind catches all that deck area, so keep it to calm days and sheltered water.
Capacity
ISLE rates the 15’ to 1,100 lb. That’s enough for several adults, but how many fit comfortably depends on their size and how still they sit. Treat the rating as a ceiling, not a target.
Glide
6.0A wide, flat board this size doesn’t glide far between strokes. It’s fine for cruising along a shoreline, but it’s not a board for covering distance.
Ease of transport
The package weighs about 65 lb, so it’s a two-person carry. Once inflated, the nose, tail and six deck handles let four to six people carry it to the water.
Ease of inflation
There’s a lot of air in a 1,081 L board. Two pumps let two people work at once, but an electric pump saves a lot of time and sweat; see our best SUP pumps.

It’s not for you if you want to paddle alone, cover distance or travel light. Everyone aboard should wear a PFD, and kids should always be supervised.

ISLE rates the 15’ for up to 1,100 lb, which is several adults or a family with kids. ISLE doesn’t publish a head count, so go by the weight limit, stay well under it, and keep everyone in PFDs.
How long does it take to inflate?
With a hand pump, a long time; it holds several times the air of a normal board. Two people pumping at once helps, and an electric pump is the easiest option.
Can you put a motor on the Megalodon?
Yes, the Megalodon 3 has a motor mount that ISLE says takes electric motors up to 3 hp. Check your state’s registration rules before you add a motor.
